International marine awareness course

This course has been developed for shipping academies and persons from shipping companies who want to learn about marine awareness, sustainable development and marine environmental issues.

ProSea provides this course in English for shipping academies in various countries along with individual business participants from varying companies.  The 3 day course is international, participatory, experiential, challenging and informative.

The course content includes marine ecology, influences of shipping on the marine environment and sustainability aspects and issues.  The objectives are to raise marine awareness among participants, the human factor, by: providing high quality information on the marine environment and maritime marine environmental issues, putting the information in the context of sustainable shipping and development, bringing together an international group of marine professionals, students and other stakeholders to examine solutions and to contribute to environmentally sustainable shipping.

Custom-tailored marine awareness course

This course has been developed for shipping companies that wish to integrate the human factor and incorporate marine awareness into its management, daily practice and policy.

ProSea provides this course in English for individual organizations that wish to have a marine awareness course tailored to their specific needs.  The 2 day course is informative, participatory and challenging. 

The course content includes marine ecology, influences of shipping on the marine environment and sustainability aspects and issues.  The objectives are to raise marine awareness among participants, the human factor, by: providing high quality information on the marine environment and maritime marine environmental issues, putting the information in the context of sustainable shipping and development, bringing together an group of marine professionals with other stakeholders to examine solutions and to contribute to environmentally sustainable shipping.

Preparatory marine awareness workshop

This workshop is appropriate for companies that wish to introduce their staff to the concept of marine awareness.

ProSea provides this workshop in English for individual organizations that wish to have an introduction to marine awareness.  The workshop varies in length from half a day to a full day with a participatory and challenging schedule. 

The workshop content is similar to a marine awareness course but is general and includes marine ecology, influences of shipping on the marine environment and sustainability aspects and issues.  The objectives are to get acquainted with marine awareness training by providing a summary of the course issues.

Dutch marine awareness course

This course has been develeoped for Dutch speaking students and personnel from Dutch shipping companies.

ProSea provides this course in Dutch for Dutch shipping academies along with Dutch speaking individual business participants.  The 3 day course is participatory, experiential, challenging and informative.  Running from the 2007/08 school year until the 2010/11 school year, the ‘Marine Awareness Program’ provides the Dutch marine awareness course for all Dutch shipping academies in cooperation with the Dutch government and the Dutch shipping sector.

The course content includes marine ecology, influences of shipping on the marine environment and sustainability aspects and issues.  The objectives are to raise marine awareness among participants, the human factor, by: providing high quality information on the marine environment and maritime marine environmental issues, putting the information in the context of sustainable shipping and development, bringing together a group of marine professionals, students and other stakeholders to examine solutions and to contribute to environmentally sustainable shipping.
