Edo Donkers

Project manager and course leader

Edo Donkers has worked in the maritime sector since 1998. He became interested in marine environmental issues in 1995 when he did an internship at the Dutch Water Ministry about marine litter in the North Sea. After some short-term work for two consulting firms he joined the Dutch environmental NGO ‘North Sea Foundation’ in 1998. In 2002, after four years of project work and advocating sustainable use of the North Sea, he moved to a position at the Port of Rotterdam. In 2006, Edo joined the ProSea Foundation to use and strengthen his expertise on shipping and environment in marine awareness courses.  Because of his experience in both the NGO and commercial maritime sector, Edo has a broad view on environmental shipping issues.
